ROAM
Roam is leading the way to the electrification of mobility in East Africa.
About ROAM
ROAM was founded in 2017 just as electric mobility was taking off, when electric cars were just arriving on our streets. Roam vision is to make electric transport more accessible to a broader market by making the technology more cost efficient and simplifying deployment. The company focuses on all-electric conversion kits for fleet vehicles such as light trucks, public transport and buses, as well as electric motorcycles and energy systems. These focus areas have been chosen to maximize impact, as these vehicles are some of the highest CO2 emitting vehicles on the market and are largely an untapped opportunity. Therefore, creating the standard for electric mobility in Africa.

TES & ROAM
Invest
Roam is leading the way to the electrification of mobility in East Africa. The rapid growth path the company is on, leads to a dynamic organizational requirements. As TES, we have experience on both sides of the table; investor and founder. In our experience, it is critical for founders to have investors on-board who add value beyond the capital they invest, who understand the business and facilitate, rather than dominate. With TES we aim to build an agile strategy framework together with founders, to connect investors who add that value where the organization needs it most. Together with five selected angels, TES invested in Roam.
Connect
Electrification of mobility is a complex transition. With TES we believe that a system perspective is critical to have and retain a net positive impact. A narrow scope often leads to negative effects. As such, we support Roam at the interface of the value-chain, connecting the quadruple helix across the continent. At the moment TES is building an industry-led e-mobility consortium and setting up a project to leverage Roam's unique position to support 8 national governments with better policy design.
